Since 1947, Tsubame Note has made the notebooks that generations of Japanese students, writers and filmmakers have sworn by — and the reason has always been the paper. Tsubame foolscap is made for writing, not printing: one careful step beyond ordinary fine paper, free of fluorescent dyes so the cream tone rests easy on the eyes, and kind to every pen. Fountain pen ink sits crisply on the surface — no feathering, no bleeding through.

The Block Memo stacks 400 sheets of this paper into a small, satisfying cube, 85mm square. Each sheet is glued at the top and lifts away cleanly, one thought at a time. A firm board divides the middle, so the block can be split into two — one for the desk, one for the bag.

A generous amount of very good paper, for the notes that don't need to be kept — written on paper that deserves to be.
