Sakura Coupy-Pencil, 12 Colours in Tin

Regular price $35.00 AUD

A coloured pencil that is colour all the way through.

First made in Japan in 1973, the Coupy-Pencil does away with the wooden barrel entirely — the whole body is the core. Nothing is hidden, nothing is wasted; each pencil holds about four times the colour of a conventional one, and keeps going long after others have been sharpened away.

It draws with the ease of a coloured pencil and the full, generous colour of a crayon. Lines erase cleanly when plans change, and the tip sharpens back to a point when detail calls. A small eraser and sharpener live inside the tin, ready.

Twelve familiar colours in the flat tin case that generations in Japan grew up opening — its bold geometric lid as recognisable as the pencils themselves. For sketching, colouring, note-making, or simply having good colour within reach.
